Discussion board is back

Last week, just before our monthly email went out, our discussion board software provider made an unannounced change to their software platform.  Long story short: After mild panic, some fixes by us and some by them, the discussion board is now back up, with a slightly new look.

Visit the discussion board now. There are some great new questions. And please let us know if you have any problems with the new software.

Eli ‘s work addresses Minnesota forest ecology & management. He’s based in St Paul.

I have 6 of these 7 or 8 yrs old, average 6 or 7 feet tall. The top portion, 3 or 4 feet (above snow) turned brown this winter. This has not happened in past winters.
Will these recover? Is there anything I can/should do to help them?

    Thank you,
    Dave

    1. Hi Dave. I would not worry yet, give it some time. A few good recent resources:

and http://blog.lib.umn.edu/efans/ygnews/2014/03/winter-burn-on-minnesotas-ever.html . This post shows dead and living buds: http://blog.lib.umn.edu/efans/ygnews/2014/04/followup-on-kathys-article-on.html . If the buds are alive, the trees will be fine. If not, the problem may be longer term.
