Are you interested in learning more about emerald ash borer (EAB) and Oriental bittersweet (OB)? Are you willing to help survey near Stillwater, MN to look for these invasive pests?
Survey participants will travel in pairs (likely in personal vehicles) to survey predefined survey routes between Stillwater and Afton. This event will begin promptly at 9 and end around 3. We’ll gather and discuss logistics over coffee at Perkins and then return for lunch (included in your free registration).
Participants should know basic tree ID (ash trees mostly), dress for walking in the weather and bring binoculars if possible. We will provide food, safety vests, additional binoculars, route maps, and training on species identification and survey protocol.
These Survey Events are organized by the University of Minnesota Extension and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) with support from USDA Farm Bill and the MDA.
