Approved Minnesota Stewardship Plan Preparers

Everyone on the map below is approved to write the plan you’ll need to enroll in one of Minnesota’s property tax and incentive payment programs.

Why work with a professional forester? Only approved forestry professionals can write approved Woodland Stewardship Plans.  The Minnesota DNR, Division of Forestry shares the plan development cost.  A current Stewardship plan makes you eligible to enroll in  Minnesota’s property tax and incentive payment programs, which can make a big difference to your bottom line.  Read more about Woodland Stewardship Plans here.  Natural resource professionals are also an excellent source of land care and management advice.

Who is on the map? The map includes public and private sector natural resource professionals approved to write Woodland Stewardship Plans in Minnesota.  This data is maintained by the Sustainable Forests Education Co-operative (SFEC).  To request changes, email SFEC staff.

A message for southwestern and south central Minnesota landowners: The stewardship program is available to you, but the DNR doesn’t have staff in that portion of the state to assist you. Please click on one of the program’s partners’ icons for contact information or scan the PDF list of Minnesota approved Stewardship plan preparers to find a partner that can assist you.

How will the map be updated? Quarterly.  We expect to make updates on or about January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 each year.  You’ll see the date of the last update above the map.

The Minnesota Forest Stewardship Program is administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry.
